Pastor Jim Garnett
My name is Jim Garnett and I have been married to my wonderful wife, Lisa
for almost 36 years and I have 5 children ranging in ages 19-31.
I have been a pastor for 31 years as well as a Bible teacher at a few
different Christian schools over the years as well.
My “hobby” is leading Bible studies – specifically inductive Bible Studies! I
have been a trained inductive Bible study leader since 1992.
I feel led by the Lord to help others understand the Bible for themselves, so
that they can grow in their knowledge and walk with Him. I have a strong
desire to reach others with inductive Bible studies who do not have them
available to them locally. And I have a desire to reach men and pastors with
this life changing method of study!
My goal is to help other believers to know the Lord in a deeper way through
the study of His Word and through the understanding and applying of it to
their daily lives. I also desire for them to become committed disciples of
Jesus Christ who can in turn disciple others in God’s Word.
Nicki Cornett
Nicki has been leading Precept Bible Studies since 2007. She also leads a Bible study for women who have experienced abortion titled “Forgiven and Set Free.” Nicki was a participant in the Southern California revival in 1979 where a mighty work of God brought her, with no tradition of religion and no knowledge of God, to repentance, from an immoral lifestyle to saving faith. Nicki lives in Florida with her husband Tom of 41 years. They have one daughter and two grandchildren, and a rescue dog named Bailey. Nicki started playing Pickleball recently and loves it, along with outdoor activities.
Lisa Garnett
Lisa gave her life to Christ and was baptized at the age of 10 and felt called to ministry while in college. She earned a Master of Divinity in Religious Education from Central Baptist Theological Seminary and has served in children’s, youth and women’s ministries, and is currently the worship minister at her church. She is a trained Precept leader. Lisa is married to DDM founder Jim Garnett and lives in Wisconsin. She enjoys playing games with their four children and grandson, and going to the dog park with their retired racing greyhound. She likes to be creative through music and art, and enjoys hiking and kayaking.
Dave Langford
Dave lives in Pennsylvania and has taught Precept PUP classes for almost 30 years, mostly men’s classes. He grew up in a liberal church where salvation by Jesus by faith was not taught. When he was in high school, his family started going to another church on Sunday nights, where he heard the gospel. Soon afterward he went forward at a Billy Graham Crusade, where he accepted Jesus as his Savior and Lord. Dave and his wife, Cindy, enjoy hiking, Bible studies, healthy gourmet food, and coffee shops. He works part-time at a local grocery store, after many years as a Social Services Director with The Salvation Army in Philadelphia.
Gail Maddox
Gail lives in Georgia where she has been leading classes, both local and online, for many years with the goal to establish herself and the class members in God’s Word, studying inductively. God’s Word is the only way we can live as true followers of Jesus Christ who view the world biblically, and intentionally live and make disciples in the power of the Holy Spirit. She became a believer at a young age and can see how she slowly grew in God’s Word in those early years. Most of her growth has come since she intentionally studies inductively for herself and for leading classes. Her go-to studies have been using Precept Ministries materials, including PUP, New Inductive Study Series, Lord series, 40 minute, D4Y, and several Chocolate courses. Over the years her favorite activities have included reading, studying and marking the Bible, travel, and enjoying family. There’s just something relaxing about using her colored pencils!
Margarita Mundo
Margarita lives in Puerto Rico. She studied in a Theological Bible Institute and has 10 years teaching experience in the Theological Institute. She saw Kay Arthur and liked how she talked about the Bible and her method. Margarita prayed to the Lord that she would like to be a teacher like Kay. Years passed and now she is a trained Precept leader who has been leading inductive studies for three years. Margarita received Jesus as her Savior and Lord in a tribulation in her home. Her husband left her with three children. In that moment she didn’t know what to do or where to go. She remembered Jesus at that moment and in her house, she cried out and Jesus heard her. Her life began to change. She was born again. Praise the Lord! She’s still married, praying to the Lord for her husband to be safe. She has 2 boys and a girl, 3 grandsons and 3 granddaughters and her dog Dukee. Her two sons live in the USA, and she loves to visit them. She loves and enjoys teaching the Bible.
Lori Proctor
Lori grew up in a Christian home where the Bible was taught, and church attendance was a natural part of life. This influence equipped her to ask Jesus to be her Savior from sin at a very young age. At age 7, during a Sunday evening service, a film about a Christian singer who died in a car accident was shown. That night as she lay awake thinking of her own mortality, she again prayed a prayer of repentance but with a new understanding. Today she has a deeper understanding of the finished work of Christ and knows the Lord continues to work in her life transforming her into the image of His Son from glory to glory. (2 Cor 3:18) Lori has received Precept Leadership training and has been leading Inductive Bible Study in her church since 2000, and online since 2018. She taught Bible study in a local county jail. Lori earned an MDiv from Moody Theological Seminary in 2019. She lives in Michigan.
Ruth Stevens
Ruth was raised in a Christian home with a disabled father and working mother. She received Christ when she was 9 years old. She was part of Bible Club, Youth for Christ, and attended church camp every summer, which is where she received Christ. She became a medical social worker and has been married for 51 years. Ruth became grounded in her faith when she attended Ladies Bible Study, and later was trained and began teaching Precept studies, which truly opened God’s Word to her…life-changing! She has 15-18 years’ experience in teaching Precept Upon Precept courses, and 40 Minute Studies. Ruth lives in Ohio and has a son and daughter and four grandchildren. She enjoys biking and kayaking when at their NH cottage. Now that she’s in her senior years she holds to the thought the less chaos, the better. She says she absolutely could not do life without her Savior God!
Rod Hill
My name is Rodrecus Hill and I have been leading Precept studies since 2010. I have taught all age groups, from 4 year olds to 87 year olds! I was saved at a young age, but really begin to grow in my faith when I got involved with CRU (Campus Crusade for Christ) Kay Arthur was a prominent speaker for CRU for many years, and this is when I met Kay and got hooked to inductive study method. When I am not leading courses, I like to serve on foreign short term mission trips. I am a coordinator for my church nursing home ministry where I work with a team of people who teach God's word, sing hymns, and pray for the sick and shut in twice a month. I have shared the gospel in Nigeria, Haiti, Dominican Republic. I am a public school teacher of mathematics. I love my students and my job - which I view as a ministry. I take care of my grandfather who is still independent, but is in his latter years of life which calls for more
assistance. I try to model my single life after what Paul states in 1 Cor 7:32 ..."one who is unmarried is concerned about the things of the Lord, how he may please the Lord."
I enjoy being around water - so traveling to the lake and beach is a must when rest is needed in my life. I like to travel, watch football and baseball with my papa, and when I am in "the mood" I enjoy baking.
